Laryngoscopy is performed to examine the larynx, or voice box, usually under anaesthetic when detailed inspection, biopsy or treatment may be needed.

About the procedure

The procedure may be recommended for persistent voice change, throat symptoms or suspected abnormalities requiring closer assessment. It can often be performed as day surgery.
